Turtle Island Journal of Indigenous Health (TIJIH)
The Turtle Island Journal of Indigenous Health (TIJIH), a graduate student-led publication co-founded by CSSH—SCSS member Dr. Angela Mashford-Pringle is seeking submissions for its 5th issue, focused on “Ongoing Extraction & Exploitation of Indigenous Lands & Knowledges.” This is a critical topic inspired by recent government actions, like Bill C-5, that accelerate resource projects without ensuring Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC). The issue explores the resulting health, social, cultural, and spiritual impacts on Indigenous Peoples globally.
TIJIH welcomes a diverse range of submissions, including:
Primary research, literature reviews, and histories
Arts-based work (visual arts, digital storytelling, poetry, photos)
Opinion pieces, community perspectives, and reflective conversations
Submission Deadline: January 9th, 2026, 11:59 pm EST.
This is a vital opportunity to contribute to Indigenous-led health scholarship and address systemic issues of extraction and exploitation.
